I should Really Finish the Task at Hand....

I know I am going at a Molasses like pace trying to complete just the story-boarding process of "Karma Police" but I find myself getting ahead of myself and exploring future possibilities. For instance I read a very interesting poem called "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" the story struck me as being very dark and mysterious and could potentially be a cool flick. I am considering adapting it into a screen play for fun/practice and who knows maybe sit on it for a little while and revisit it down the road. I am dead set on completing one project at a time though so KP comes first.

i'm going to hook you up to little shock electrodes Froy! i'll give you a little jolt every time i sense you aren't working on your projects Froy!!!

The idea of adapting "The Rime of the Ancient Mariner" is very intriguing. I'm probably preaching to the choir but make damn sure you write all these ideas and things down in an easily accessible place. I find myself wishing I was more diligent about that in the past.

Oh froi!!! You and your wandering eye! lol. I look forward to all of your projects... and I can completely understand how you like to move from one project to the next! I like to doodle with one, then move onto the next and move on to another, and then come back an visit the first... it seems to keep my interest better, and allows me to really think about the material!!! So, maybe thats all you need is to step away and come back refreshed!!!

Hope all is well my friend

Question.....Does someone own the rights to something like that poem given its archaic nature?

There's a good chance that something like that would be in the public domain by now, in fact I'm willing to bet that's the case. I think to find out for sure though we'd need help from some kind of entertainment lawyer. Regardless, it'd still be fun to write.

I'd say write first, ask questions later current law states that its 70 years after the death of the artist... I haven't done research on that poem, maybe i should since i'm supposedly a story teller... but as long as the guy died before 1939 you should be ok... but anyway, i dont know international law, but i'm willing to bet its within that 70 year range... the only reason it is even that long is because Disney keeps fighting to keep Mickey Mouse apart of their property b/c it used to be 50 years!
